Notification Settings (Beta)
Notifications tell you that something happened without you having to open the portal. Settings > Notification Settings is where the rules are defined: first what should trigger a notification, then where it should go.
The events you can be notified about

The two payment events and the daily summary read from a bank connection, so they only produce anything once Bank Accounts is connected. Invoice Arrived, User Added and Due Date Alert work without one.
Creating a rule
Pick the event, then the channel, then confirm. Existing rules are listed under Active Notifications with their status, action, channel, settings and creation date, and each can be switched off without being deleted.
A channel is verified before it can be used, so a rule on an address or number you cannot receive on does not silently do nothing — the verification step fails first. If the verification code does not arrive, wait rather than requesting it repeatedly: each request replaces the previous code.
Choosing what to switch on
Invoice Arrived is the one worth having from day one. Under the reform an invoice made available to you starts running clocks — approval, refusal, payment — and a notification is what stops one sitting unseen.
Due Date Alert helps only if someone acts on it. Send it to whoever chases payment, not to a shared address nobody reads.
Daily Summary suits a person doing a daily reconciliation. If nobody does, it becomes noise, and noisy notifications train people to ignore the ones that matter.
User Added is a security signal. On a company where users are added rarely, an unexpected one of these is worth investigating the same day.
The feature is marked Beta: the set of events and channels can change, and a rule you created may need revisiting after an update. It is not a substitute for a process — if an invoice must be handled within a deadline, the deadline belongs in someone's work, with the notification as the reminder.
