Reconciliation and bank accounts
Reconciliation answers one question: which invoices are settled and which are not. The lists are the same invoices seen through payment state, so you pick the list rather than filtering the whole ledger each time.
| List | What it holds |
|---|---|
| All | Every invoice with its payment status |
| Open | Not paid, not yet overdue |
| Late | Past the due date and still unpaid |
| Partially paid | Some payment recorded, a balance outstanding |
Each row carries the invoice number, the customer or supplier, the invoice and due dates, the payable amount, the currency and both the payment status and the document status. Late is the list to work from for collection; Partially paid is the one that quietly holds money, because an invoice with one payment against it stops looking unpaid.
Recording a payment
A payment recorded against an invoice moves it between these lists, and it is also what makes the French lifecycle status Encaissée (212) possible — that status carries the payment details, so it cannot be reported on an invoice with no payment recorded.
Marking an invoice paid is therefore not only bookkeeping: on the French route it is part of what you report.
Connecting bank accounts
Bank Accounts links the accounts themselves. Two screens depend on it and say so when it is missing:
- Banking Overview (Beta) — the position across connected accounts.
- Cash Flow (Beta) — forecasting and financial-health insight.
Both show an empty state with a link to Bank Accounts until a connection exists. That is not a fault; there is no bank data to display.
A connection also feeds the payment notifications: Incoming Payment, Outgoing Payment and the Daily Summary in Notification Settings produce nothing without one.
What to expect from the connection
Bank data arrives on the bank's schedule, not instantly, so a transfer made this morning may not be visible until later. Reconciliation against a bank feed lags reality by that much, and chasing a customer for a payment the feed has not shown yet is the usual mistake.
Both banking screens are marked Beta. Use them to see the position, and keep the accounting decision on the invoice side — an invoice's payment status is what the reports and the lifecycle read, not the bank feed.
